Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated, detail oriented professional to support the needs of IT and development Team at Dotomi. A strong candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:
Mandatory skills include- 5-10 years DBA experience in multiple database environments
- Extensive Query Performance Tuning
- 24 by 7 Linux or other unix experience
- VLDB background - highly transactional
- Workload Management Experience – implementing database governance
- Environment sizing and scaling experience – proactive monitoring and accounting for future growth in distributed database environments
- Transformation experience - Consolidation of multiple database environments into single Enterprise Data Warehouse
- Familiar with current best practices in OLTP and Data Warehousing techniques
- BS in computer science preferred, equivalent professional DBA experience may still apply
- Scripting in database environments (java, perl, shell)
- SQL database environments
- Postgres database environments
Responsibilities
- Manage the physical database factory; including data distribution, database upgrades backup and recovery solutions and other related activities
- Monitor the health of the database environment and provide proactive strategies to improve its health
- Participate in database architecture reviews and design projects as needed
- Work very closely with Java developers to review, tune and develop SQL and PL/SQL codes for online real-time applications
- Support developers, production and QA on database related issues, including data partitioning strategies.
