Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated, detail oriented professional to support the needs of Data Warehouse Team at Dotomi. A strong candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:
- Senior Member of the Engineering team focused on designing and implementing a state-of-the-art, enterprise data warehouse.
- The successful candidate will be skilled in drawing technical components out of the business requirements; integrating those components into an enterprise wide data model and warehouse.
- They will also be expert in determining the applicability of existing warehouse components and technologies to new business requirements.
- The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing concepts to all levels of the enterprise
- S/he will understand and champion Data Quality standards and insure those standards are incorporated into the design and data processing for the enterprise data warehouse.
- S/he will have a keen understanding of hardware and software limitations and how they relate to data warehousing technologies
- S/he will be conversant in understanding the various steps in boarding data to the various warehouse components and implementing solutions that allow delivery of meaningful information to the user via multiple delivery mechanisms from standardized, auditable reports - to self serve reports - to analytics and data mining.
- Manage on boarding of all data in to the enterprise and ultimately the data warehouse
- Define the future state of the Data Warehouse domain. Gather and align to business requirements. Socialize with stakeholders on a recurring basis.
- Define the future state based on analytical requirements from each business vertical.
- Develop and management a corporate data model
- Evaluate vendors/technologies for the data warehouse environment
- Implement changes or additions to the data warehouse environment
- Design and direct the ETL processes, including data quality and testing
- Define technical requirements, technical and data architectures for the data warehouse and data marts
- Define and direct the implementation of data security requirements
- Define and direct meta data standards
- Develop new reporting technologies for client data.
- Define and design production release procedures
- Manage corporate DBAs, Database Developers, and Reporting Engineers
- Provide depth and direction through development of standards, policies, architecture patterns, and frameworks.
- Coach and mentor peers and associates in the area of Data Warehouse architecture and Data Management.
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university required
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Statistics preferred
- Significant experience designing and maintaining large Data Warehousing environments (over 20 Terabytes)
- Experience designing and supporting database environments (e.g., PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, Oracle, MPP Databases, etc.)
- Considerable experience designing relational and multi-dimensional models
- Strong data modeling skills
- Strong business and communication skills
- Broad information technology experience (e.g., MPP Architecture, languages, DBMSs, methodologies)
- Significant skill and experience in requirements definition and analysis
- Significant skill in source data discovery
- Significant skill in data anomaly identification/resolution
- Depth of knowledge with industry trends related to Data Warehousing, Data Management, metadata, Master Data Management, unstructured data and data quality practices.
- Experience managing and leading virtual, cross-functional teams, including defining requirements, developing designs and project plans, and delivering results.
- Ability to effectively communicate at different levels in and across the organization and to articulate to non-technical audiences the advantages and disadvantages of using various technologies and standards
- Ability to work well with and influence multiple teams, including internal and external departments and organizations.
